Deepening Connections

Rhode Island Portrait Photographer1.jpg

Despite the craziness of this 2020 year, it’s been the year of making new connections and deepening existing ones for me. One of the best things about being a portrait photographer in Rhode Island is that you run into people who know people you know. Then it’s a party for everyone. This summer, Aaron’s mother, Eve, contacted me about portraits to celebrate her son’s graduation from the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI). Going into the session, I knew we had a couple of things in common:

  1. Eve graduated from Rhode Island College as I did

  2. Aaron was considering going into Psychology or Social Work (I studied Psychology)

  3. We all love Providence, RI

What we didn’t know and that I found out afterward was that one of Eve’s best friends is my husband’s niece-in-law Taylor! Taylor and I just reconnected early this year when I bumped into her at a Bridal Show. Taylor was there to planning her upcoming wedding, and I was there show-casing work from my wedding photography company Piper Brown Photography. It was a fun reunion, and thanks to the powers of social media, Taylor and I have been able to stay in touch.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that Eve - who reached out to me via Facebook and independent of her friend, knew Taylor. The creating and interweaving of connections is another reason why I love the work that I do.

If you’re a previous client or a potential one, follow me on Instagram @rhodeislandportraits, and let’s see who we have in common!  Here are some of the portraits of Aaron I made 😁
